As you can probably imagine, we've had to do a lot of maneuvering in order to remain kind of hidden under a lot of things, but as long as we can keep doing what we're doing, even to a smaller capacity, that is what we're going to do our best.
Many people assume if they attend a private institution like Southern Methodist University that they'll be able to avoid radically divisive DEI. Unfortunately, they're wrong. I was hoping to see if y'all had any existing like equity trainings that maybe all provide for staff faculty and that would give us an idea of what to go off of. So all we got is held through our Office of Cultural Intelligence. As you can probably imagine, we've had to do a lot of maneuvering in order to have more being kind of hidden under a lot of things.

I have a class with students. - Much like the public universities, they just rename the programs and keep doing the same work. - Yeah, it's not gonna be as severe, hopefully, as some of the other public universities have to deal with, but I know that the university is definitely minding it like P's and Q's and it's slowly like, working to like rename things and maybe do all those things.
I'm a fan of renaming things, but doing away with it makes me sad. Some questions about some of the work new programs that we do, so I feel like we're going to start to see. Currently, well, it was the office, so it was the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, which is now the Office of Cultural Intelligence.
Oh, okay. And their training, we helped facilitate that training. Gotcha. Gotcha. Okay, okay. So that office still exists just under a different name. It does suck that you said you'll have to maneuver and keep things hidden.
Yeah, but as long as we can keep doing what we're doing even to a smaller capacity, that is what we're going to do. Which I thought I saw JJ was in this office and I thought her title was like cultural intelligence something. Yes. So she was your DEI officer, essentially. Just she had to get a new title. Okay.
